Personnel Changes at M&M Lumber
2018 brings some exciting changes to M&M Lumber in our personnel. Hopefully you know these folks… Garry, who managed our door shop, has moved to the front counter. Steve Clark, who was our dispatcher, has moved over to run the door shop. Jeremy, who was also in dispatch, will be the main man and run dispatch and operations. Kart Racing 8-22-17
Many M&M Lumber employee had bragging rights after a night at the kart track last week. We ran several ‘qualifying’ heats before the top 10 fastest race times raced for the award winning heat. US – Canada Softwood Lumber Dispute
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced February 15 that it is postponing a decision in the preliminary determination in the countervailing duty (CVD) case against Canadian lumber imports until April 24 due to the complexity of the case. A decision was expected February 21st. The ITC had determined that there is a reasonable indication that US lumber producers have been materially injured by Canadian softwood lumber imports that are allegedly subsidized and sold at or below fair value. Changes are happening in the world of treated lumber. The American Wood Protection Association (AWPA) voted a number of changes that affect the application of treated lumber. After nearly a 25 year hiatus from Tulsa, the Tulsa Great Raft Race made a come back to Tulsa on Labor Day. The original race ran from 1973 to 1991, and at it’s peak had 600 rafts with 4500 racers!
